Energy Advisors will evaluate your home’s energy performance and can help you determine how much energy your home uses, where your home is inefficient, and which problem areas and fixes you should prioritize to save energy and improve the comfort of your home.
During the on-site evaluation, the following information will be collected:
- Review of the building envelope (windows, doors, ceilings, walls, foundation)
- Review of mechanical systems (heating system, air conditioning system, ventilation system and domestic hot water)
- Blower door test
- Energy modeling of all components to determine the energy efficiency of your home
You will receive:
- An EnerGuide Label showing your home’s current energy consumption
- A Homeowner Information Sheet that describes your home’s current energy use
- A Renovation Upgrade Report, which includes a custom roadmap of energy efficient upgrades and the potential new energy rating and savings you could achieve after implementing the recommendations.
There are currently grant programs available to help homeowners with the cost of improving energy efficiency in their home. The Greener Homes program is offering $600 back to the first 700,000 assessments across Canada for the Greener Homes program
